Porcelain
h. 9"
This piece has just been made. It will now be covered with two layers of plastic and left to dry for about two weeks until the porcelain looks completely white -- a sign that it is ready to fire. It will then be bisque-fired at a quite low heat, so that it will be sufficiently porous to take a glaze. It will be dipped in a clear glaze, then fired in an electric kiln to 2,300 degrees, from which it will emerge, a graceful and elegant dress vase, 24 hours later.
